About the role

Western State Hospital (WSH) in Lakewood, Washington is seeking Psychiatrists to lead multi-disciplinary inpatient treatment teams on wards dedicated to general adult, geriatric, and forensic populations. The ideal candidate should have a valid license to practice medicine and surgery in Washington State, completed an ACGME-approved residency in Psychiatry, strong psychopharmacology skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Certify the medical necessity of hospital level of care
  • Prescribe and review appropriate medication and treatment
  • Perform ongoing assessments of the patient's response to treatments
  • Develop and review a release plan or justification for continued inpatient status

Requirements

  • A valid license to practice medicine and surgery in Washington State
  • Successful completion of ACGME approved residency in Psychiatry
  • Strong psychopharmacology skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals

Initial target salary: $317,652

Schedule

Employees driving on state business must have a valid driver's license. Employees driving a privately owned vehicle on state business must have liability insurance on the privately owned vehicle.
