Sleep Lab Technologist Full Time

Employment Type: Full time, Night Shift

Location: Ypsilanti, MI | Schedule: 36 hours per week, 3×12-hour shifts | Rate: $27.00+ per hour

About the Role

Conducts nocturnal polysomnograms, initiates nasal CPAP, conducts Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, and scores all types of tests performed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Twelve to eighteen months of related experience preferred
• Board certification from the BRPT or ABSM required; colleagues not registered or CRPSGTs at hire must pass the board exam within the first 18 months

Responsibilities

• Gather materials and set up all necessary equipment for tests
• Discuss test procedures with patients and answer questions
• Instruct patients on the use of PAP therapy
• Prepare patients by applying electrodes and ancillary equipment following AASM standards
• Calibrate machines and recalibrate as needed
• Monitor patients during testing and troubleshoot equipment
• Contact physician in life-threatening or emergency situations
• Score polygraphic records and summarize findings for physician review
• Clean and maintain equipment; arrange repairs as needed
• Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies
• Collect urine samples for laboratory analysis when required
• Assist in training new personnel in polysomnography techniques
• Answer phones and schedule patient test procedures
• Maintain current BLS/CPR and sleep certifications
• Acquire 10 continuing education credits (CECs) per year for sleep center accreditation
• Assist with new hire interviews, scoring training, and technical-quality evaluations
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, and colleague information

• Perform duties safely and report hazards immediately
• Perform other duties as assigned
