Full time Sleep Technologist

About the role

We are an established and rapidly growing healthcare practice in San Antonio, Texas seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, the sleep technologist will perform diagnostic and titration polysomnography, multiple sleep latency tests, maintenance of wakefulness tests, and home sleep apnea tests. The sleep technologist will also be responsible for initiating and monitoring PAP therapy and must be credentialed in sleep technology to provide supervision of other technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and titration polysomnography
• Conduct multiple sleep latency tests and maintenance of wakefulness tests
• Administer home sleep apnea tests
• Initiate and monitor PAP therapy
• Supervise other technical personnel
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess, coordinate, and implement patient care
• Communicate effectively with the Medical Director, referring physicians, other sleep technologists and technicians, and administrative staff
• Ensure continuity of care for patients so their medical needs are met

Qualifications

• Credentialing by one of the following boards:
  • Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists: Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Polysomnography Technologist (CPSGT)
  • American Board of Sleep Medicine: Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
  • National Board of Respiratory Care: Certified Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialist (CRT-SDS) or Registered Respiratory Therapist – Sleep Disorders Specialist (RRT-SDS)
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR or BCLS certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Effective customer service and social skills
• Age-specific and cultural competencies
