Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall clinical, technical and administrative functions at the location on record regarding the PAP Therapy program.
- Keeps the Bookings calendar up to date.
- Contacts patients to complete follow-up calls for equipment received (CPAP, AutoPAP, BiPAP) and explains the clinical benefits of PAP therapy and dangers of sleep apnea, along with coaching them on use.
- Schedules setups of equipment for patients and explains the clinical benefits of PAP therapy and dangers of sleep apnea.
- Engages in clinical contact with the physician, referred contacts, health care practitioners, and others involved in the care of patients referred to Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a VieMed for home respiratory therapy services.
- Maintains records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
- Ensures all pertinent demographic information is updated regularly and with any change in personal or professional status.
- Trains and orientates subordinate or newly hired respiratory therapist staff/service technicians.
- Exhibits effective written and verbal communication.
- Adheres to cost-containment policies and procedures.
- Works with the office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including providing adequate information to satisfy third-party payor guidelines for coverage.
- Promotes and markets home respiratory therapist services to all referral sources.
- Provides availability for patient contact and responds to patient needs.
- Collaborates with team members (other RTs, PCC’s and various departments) to ensure tasks are completed.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma is required.
- One to three years of administrative and clinical experience in an office setting/medical field is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact knowledgeably with patients, physicians, etc., are required.
Physical Demands
- Sitting at a desk.
- Operating office equipment and a computer.
Work Schedule
Works during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.
