Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall clinical, technical, and administrative functions of the PAP Therapy program at the designated location.
- Maintain and update the Bookings calendar.
- Contact patients to complete follow-up calls for equipment received (CPAP, AutoPAP, BiPAP), explain the clinical benefits of PAP therapy, discuss the dangers of sleep apnea, and coach patients on equipment use.
- Schedule patient setups for equipment and explain the clinical benefits of PAP therapy and dangers of sleep apnea.
- Serve as the clinical point of contact for physicians, referred contacts, healthcare practitioners, and others involved in patient care for home respiratory therapy services.
- Maintain records, including charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
- Ensure all pertinent demographic information is updated regularly and with any changes in personal or professional status.
- Provide orientation and training for subordinate or newly hired respiratory therapist staff and service technicians.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication.
- Adhere to cost-containment policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including meeting third-party payor guidelines for coverage.
- Work with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market home respiratory therapy services to referral sources.
- Provide availability for patient contact and respond to patient needs.
- Collaborate with team members (other RTs, PCCs, and various departments) to ensure task completion.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- 1-3 years of administrative and clinical experience in an office setting or medical field preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact knowledgeably with patients, physicians, and others.
Physical Demands
- Sitting at a desk.
- Operation of office equipment and computer.
Schedule
Normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
