About the Role
Develop and maintain a Skills Lab to meet the general and individual needs of students related to developing skill competence.
Responsibilities
- Meet with faculty to identify and clarify skills to be practiced and set up schedule for the semester.
- Be competent in skills required by students.
- Coordinate and supervise skill demonstration, student practice of skills, and sign-offs for student proficiency.
- Provide availability of individual instruction for disadvantaged students as needed.
- Discuss with faculty individual student learning needs.
- Contact faculty members every two weeks with students' progress.
- Maintain a consistent schedule and record of attendance in skill lab.
- Maintain inventory, security, and functionality of equipment and supplies.
- Be available for MDA and PHB students according to schedules designed by the skills lab instructors and approved by the MDA or PHB program coordinator and faculty.
- Maintain quality controls, all equipment, and adhere to industry standards.
Requirements
- Medical assisting and phlebotomy clinical experience are required.
- Proficient technical skills with ability to operate basic equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting with certification (preferred).
- Phlebotomy certification or higher (preferred).
- Previous experience as an instructor (preferred).
Schedule
Flexible time schedule Monday through Friday, including some evenings and Saturdays. Standard College hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Pay
$35.95 per hour.
Current criminal record and child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and to be employed at the College.
