Here Is What You Will Do:
- Perform advanced-level duties assisting skilled trades workers in maintenance and renovation tasks, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other building trades work.
- Support the department's Skilled Trades Worker by performing semi-skilled tasks (in various trades).
- Clean work areas, sweep, collect trash, assist in demolition activities, and move supplies and equipment.
- Perform minor operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC, heating equipment, and plumbing.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems assigned to HVAC and Heating.
- Transport raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments or buildings.
- Perform minor welding repairs; operate power tools.
- Perform light carpentry work, such as building bookshelves, bookcases, etc.
- Mix and pour concrete for foundations and fixtures.
- Install, repair, and service motors, pumps, and fans.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as forklifts, tractors, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- A technical or vocational degree in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrical trade area; or a high school diploma or GED and one year experience in plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or electrical trade area.
- A valid Georgia driver's license.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Knowledge of tools and equipment used in HVAC and heating.
- Knowledge of basic principles and practices of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or other related trades.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform strenuous manual tasks.
- Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in HVAC, heating, and plumbing fields, such as jacks, meters, wrenches, etc.
