Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all applicable traffic laws, infection control procedures, facility policies, and safe patient handling protocols.
  • Maintain required driver's licenses, certifications, and training for wheelchair and gurney transport.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

  • Operate facility vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans and gurney-capable transport vehicles, to safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, dialysis treatments, hospital discharges, specialist visits, and community outings.
  • Aid residents with boarding and exiting vehicles using appropriate safety techniques.
  • Safely secure wheelchairs and gurneys, ensure all seat belts, restraints, and locking systems are properly engaged, and provide physical assistance as needed while maintaining resident dignity and comfort.
  • Safely transport residents requiring stretcher/gurney accommodations in accordance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
  • Plan efficient routes throughout the Peninsula to ensure residents arrive on time for scheduled appointments while accommodating schedule changes and traffic conditions.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, report mechanical or safety concerns promptly, and maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle interior.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing and Admissions departments to manage daily transportation schedules, transportation logs, appointment updates, and resident needs.
  • Deliver a friendly, patient, and professional experience for every resident, prioritizing safety, respect, comfort, and exceptional customer service during every trip.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current, valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record (no major violations).
  • Previous experience in medical transport, senior living, or professional driving is highly preferred.
  • A patient, compassionate, and helpful attitude toward seniors and individuals with mobility challenges.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential to ensure our residents never miss a clinical appointment.
