About the role
We are currently seeking a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team in Jackson, MS. This position is for a second shift maintenance technician, working Monday through Friday from 2:00PM to 10:30PM.
Responsibilities
- Experience in a multi-skilled machine maintenance environment, with corrugated machine maintenance a plus.
- Hands-on approach to tasks, including getting dirty.
- Must have your own tools.
- Responsible for solving problems in a manufacturing environment.
- Diagnose, monitor, and troubleshoot issues.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Support other staff in daily operations.
- Work well with others.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar field.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have a sense of urgency regarding machinery downtime.
- Apply analytical skills, self-motivation, and initiative.
- Capable of working weekends, overtime, and alternating shifts.
Requirements
- Good knowledge and previous work experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, rebuilding, gear trains, fabrication, and welding.
- Knowledge of ink systems, rotary die machines, and basic electronics is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Physical demands: able to stand for long periods, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs by team lifting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- High school math skills, including reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy, calculating percentages, measurements, volumes, and rates.
- Common sense understanding to follow instructions.
Skills
- Problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.
