About the role

Grecian Delight | Kronos Foods (“GDK”) is a premier provider of authentic Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, offering products like gyros, specialty meats, pitas, flatbreads, tzatziki, hummus, spreads, falafel, ready-to-eat and plant-based proteins, and value-added bakery products. We serve over 400 foodservice distributors, 30,000 independent and national chain restaurants, and the top 40 U.S. retailers. We are seeking Production Associates for our Elk Grove Village and Glendale Heights locations. Motivated workers are encouraged to apply, as we provide training.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and work safely while following all safety rules.
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Report issues with equipment, materials, or finished products, including foreign objects.
• Assemble, set up, break down, and inspect all equipment in the assigned area.
• Operate equipment and machines; handle and move product through the manufacturing process.
• Measure, add, grind, and/or mix ingredients and other raw materials.
• Work independently with limited supervision.
• Ensure the quality, sanitation, and line performance of each production line.
• Perform quality checks, equipment set-up, maintain operational parameters, and monitor equipment performance.
• Report any safety concerns.
• Meet third-party audit requirements, including SQF, HACCP, FSMA, USDA, and FDA standards.
• Utilize tools and equipment, including pallet jacks.
• Track and report productivity using computers, iPads, or other technology.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing plant or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience operating machinery is desired.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role operates in a manufacturing plant environment with varied temperatures, including hot, cold, and freezer conditions. The work environment includes proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working at heights, and exposure to chemicals. Frequent physical activities include:

• Standing, walking, hearing, bending, stooping, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching overhead.
• Pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and pushing unassisted.

Pay

Target pay rate for skilled labor: $17.50–$19.00/hour. Shift differentials: $1.00 for 2nd shift and $1.50 for 3rd shift.
