About the role

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is currently recruiting Active-Duty U.S. Military personnel for the SkillBridge Internship Program. The program is 4-6 months in duration and offers service members an opportunity to transition into challenging assignments in various fields.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to scientific discoveries and technical breakthroughs for solutions in energy and national security.
  • Engage in assignments related to:
    • Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, etc.)
    • Facilities and Operations
    • Environmental Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q)
    • Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD)
    • Technical Support
    • Nuclear Safety
    • Nuclear Operations
    • Cyber Security
    • Cyber Defense Information School (DINFOS)
    • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
    • High performance Computing (HPC)
    • IT and Linux Systems Engineering
    • Finance
    • Procurement
    • and other Military Occupational Code (MOC) projects
  • Participate in career development opportunities to enhance professional growth.

Requirements

Applicants must be active-duty U.S. military and have 180 days remaining in service by the start date of the internship.
