SKI OR SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTOR

About the role

Instructs skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities how to improve their ski/ride skill, while providing a fun and effective learning environment. Along with assisting in all facets of the ski / ride department. Scheduling, booking, coordinating, terrain parks, facilities and point of sale duties.

Responsibilities

• Instructs groups and/or individuals in a fun lesson format
• Teaches proper technique appropriate to the ability level of those being instructed
• Promotes safety and gives students the knowledge to remain safe when they leave lessons to ski/ride on their own
• Participates in clinics and free skiing to constantly improve personal skiing skills
• Takes PSIA and AASI exams, and completes pre-season clinics
• Greet guests and direct guests to proper lesson locations
• Construct Park features such as rails and jumps
• Ski/ride prior to daily opening to assess quality and safety issues
• Patrol the park, encouraging proper park use and addressing unsafe practices with users
• Aid injured park guests, and call ski patrol if needed

Requirements

High school diploma
Friendly, outgoing personality
Patience, and a love of the outdoors and teaching
Must pass background check necessary to work with children

Qualifications

• Clear verbal communication skills
• Ability to ski/ride safely and confidently in all ski conditions and in varying types of terrain
• Ability to work during peak ski times and in bad weather
