Responsibilities

• Teach proper technique appropriate to the ability level of each student.
• Instruct group and private lessons of varying ability and age levels.
• Maintain personal gear in a safe, functional and attractive condition.
• Follow the Responsibility Code and reduce risk for guests on varied terrain in winter weather.
• Supervise children at all times in class.
• Connect and communicate with parents and/or chaperones.
• Aid students in the loading and unloading of chair lifts & carpet lifts.
• Continually learn and update teaching, technical and skiing/snowboarding skills based on PSIA/AASI standards.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding ability required.
• Effective teaching skills working with children and adults.
• Act as a role model; motivating and positively influencing students.
• Must be adaptable and willing to learn and improve personal skills.
• Display mature judgment skills and decision making.
• PSIA /AASI certification or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required.
• Basic proficiency with email and internet websites.

Shift Requirements

Frequent evening shifts for school programs and family nights.
Frequent weekend and holiday shifts.

Age Requirements

Applicants must be at least age 16.

Other Requirements

Cori / Pro Screen background check required prior to being hired.
New hires must complete the Instructor Training Course (ITC), which includes at home work as well as on snow assessments.
Attendance of ski or snowboard clinics required for all instructors.
