Key Responsibilities
- Lead all skating instruction for the assigned age group.
- Maintain high standards for safety, instruction, and student experience.
- Monitor student progress and instructional quality; recommend advancement opportunities.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate coaches.
- Observe instruction regularly and provide meaningful coaching and accountability.
- Foster a collaborative culture where coaches are teachers, mentors, and role models.
- Prepare students for Learn to Skate USA and U.S. Figure Skating testing.
- Collaborate with Education and Off-Ice Conditioning staff to support each student's overall growth.
- Recognize and celebrate individual student progress.
- Partner with the Head of Skating Operations and Creative Ice Show Director to prepare students for the annual Ice Show and performances.
- Teach and reinforce choreography while ensuring students are prepared to perform with confidence.
- Serve as the primary skating liaison for families.
- Communicate expectations, progress, and opportunities in a timely, welcoming manner.
- Fit students for skates and oversee skate inventory.
- Support operational excellence by maintaining organized equipment and skating spaces.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of figure skating coaching experience.
- Knowledge of Learn to Skate USA and U.S. Figure Skating curriculum and testing.
- Experience leading, supervising, and developing coaches.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to youth development and inclusive practices.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability for afternoons, evenings, weekends, and special events.
