About the role
The Technical Writer supports the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. This position is located at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. The role involves creating, editing, and formatting technical and non-technical documentation to support SITEC-3 operations.
Responsibilities
- Plans, designs, and develops detailed technical and non-technical forms, documentation, and references for technical and non-technical programs and processes with limited supervision
- Collaborates with technical staff and customer representatives to document the specifications, design, features, and operation of technical processes and solutions
- Writes and edits user manuals, help systems, and other technical documents
- Designs and formats documents using document-creation software such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat
- Interviews developers and other technical resource personnel to ensure the accuracy of all content
- Affords the intended audience and adjusts writing style accordingly
- Collaborates with graphic designers to develop visual aids, including diagrams and charts
- Supports content development through collaboration with subject-matter experts, such as applications developers
Requirements
- 6 years with HS; 4 years with AS/AA; 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MAA
- DoD TS/SCI or above clearance
- Prior experience in technical writing preferred

Details
Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
