About the Role

Peraton requires an IT Specialist to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 at Camp H.M. Smith, HI. The purpose of this role is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services. These services include maintaining Network Operations (NetOps), systems and network infrastructure, end-user and common device support, configuration, change, license, and asset management, training, and performing Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services.

The IT Specialist performs Tier one and two network support and provides administration of network and communications systems. This role requires solid technical skills and experience in a variety of network protocols, software, and hardware involved in IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create tickets within the IT Service Management (ITSM) tool
  • Troubleshoot and proactively resolve technical issues
  • Respond to requests for technical support
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals such as printers
  • Install and configure application and operating system software and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware and network connectivity issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair end-user devices
  • Install and troubleshoot software
  • Remove old equipment and perform data migration to new machines
  • Re-image hardware
  • Perform shared file access maintenance
  • Maintain accounts and create tokens
  • Maintain an inventory of installed software, manage software licensing, and create policies and procedures for upgrades
  • Reset CAC/Token pins
  • Maintain local registration authority capabilities
  • Provide information and tracking on IT Projects, ASIs, incidents, and changes that impact customers
  • Ensure incidents are routed and/or escalated to the appropriate support group
  • Escalate tickets to other IT support groups and/or vendor support
  • Implement network and security access
  • Provide mobile device support
  • Provide CSfC kit support

Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Requirements

  • BS + 8 years of experience OR MS + 6 years of experience OR PHD with 3 years of experience OR HS with 12 years of experience OR AA with 10 years of experience
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance required
  • Required certification: DoDD 01-M IAT II
  • General experience includes background in information systems development, network operations, application performance in a client/server environment, or related fields
  • Specialized experience includes management of help desks in a multi-user environment, comprehensive understanding of PC operating systems, working knowledge of network and electronic mail operations, and prior supervision of help desk employees
  • Experience with Help Desk and demonstrated ability to communicate well both orally and in writing
  • Positive customer service attitude

Qualifications (Highly Desired)

  • Compliance with DoD 8140 under the Work Role Code 411 - Intermediate level or higher, to be completed by 01Oct26

Pay

Target salary range: $112,000 - $179,000. Salary is determined by various factors, including scope and responsibilities of the position, individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
