About the role
The Network Architect supports USSOCOM's network enterprise modernization initiatives. The role involves managing, designing, and optimizing network solutions to ensure the availability, security, and performance of mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Performs Tier-4 network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD.
- Comprehensively reviews existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required.
- Trains and evaluates the impact of architectural changes on the network.
- Follows designated network standards for the design, installation, and maintenance of LAN, WAN infrastructures, voice and data network systems, and advanced engineering.
- Planner, designer, engineer, configure, maintain, defend, troubleshoot, and repair the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN).
- Triage malware, LAN, WAN, VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems.
- Provide troubleshooting of enterprise WAN/MAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluate the effect of architectural changes on the network.
- Assess business and applications requirements for corporate data and voice networks.
- Plan, design, and upgrade network installation projects.
- Establish and maintain backup, version-control, and malware defense systems.
- Make recommendations for leveraging network installations and reducing operational costs.
Qualifications
- BS + 8 years of experience OR MS + 6 years of experience OR PHD with 3 years of experience OR HS with 10 years of experience OR AA with 12 years of experience
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
- Experience with network operating systems (e.g., Cisco, Novell and Windows Server), network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, cabling and other essential network hardware), and LAN/WAN protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
- TS/SCI clearance required
Highly Desired Qualifications
- CCIE, CCDP, CCNP, Security, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Wireless, CCNP Collaboration, ACMP, ACCX, ACCP, Cloud Networking (AWS and Azure)
- Knowledge of wireless technology and mobility devices
- Compliance with DoW 8140 under the Work Role Code 441 - Network Operations Specialist - Intermediate level or higher. Must be completed by 01Oct26.
Details Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000
