Site Survey/Service Technician

Meet at the shop in Commerce around 7 am daily (times will vary on occasion). Company vehicle provided to travel to 1–4 job sites per day for site surveys or service calls.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys: walk the site and pilot a drone to gather roof and installation details, determining the general scope of jobs ahead of installation.
- Perform service calls: troubleshoot and diagnose power and communication issues with systems including SolarEdge, Enphase, Sol-Ark, and Tesla, often requiring roof work.
- Handle removal and reinstallation tasks similar to installation crew duties.
Requirements
- Ability to work on roofs and lift/carry objects up to 60 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and experience interacting with customers.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate apps for system commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license (required).
- Prior solar and/or electrical-related experience is preferred but not required.
- Drone experience is a plus but not necessary upon application.
Expectations
- 2–6 hours of paid drive time daily.
- Obtain FAA Part 107 drone license and register as a Michigan electrical apprentice within the first 6 months of employment, if not already certified.

Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 35–50 hours per week, depending on season, workload, and employee availability.
Experience
- At least 1 year as a solar installer (preferred, not required).
- Background in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting (preferred).
Work location: Commerce Twp., 48390 — on-site at customers’ homes.
