Survey Technician

Duties

• Aid the survey crew chief in completing survey field assignments.
• Adhere to prescribed safety protocols for land surveying.
• Operate advanced surveying technology such as GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAV, high-definition scanners, and data collection devices.
• Clear brush, drive stakes, take detailed notes, and make sketches.
• Process data and prepare maps and other work products using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson, and other software.

Requirements

• One to three years of relevant experience preferred.
• Skilled in the use of GPS and Robotic Total Stations, data collectors, survey, and drafting technologies.
• Familiarity with Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and OpenRoads software.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

• Drive a passenger vehicle.
• Wear personal protective safety gear most of the day.
• Work in cold or hot environments.
• Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
