About the role

This role oversees the construction of ethanol and gas plant facilities, ensuring that all work progresses safely, on schedule, and in alignment with project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities on ethanol and gas plant projects, ensuring work meets design specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
  • Cook up and supervise all on-site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors, to maintain efficient and safe operations.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address issues that could impact schedule, cost, or quality.
  • Implement and enforce site safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to align site execution with overall project plans and objectives.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and scope.
  • Organize and lead regular site meetings to communicate priorities, resolve conflicts, and align the team on upcoming work.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to verify adherence to quality standards and contractual obligations.
  • Cook up and store materials, tools, and equipment to support efficient site operations.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and site logs.
  • Identify potential risks or delays and recommend practical solutions to keep the project on track.
  • Support commissioning and handover activities by ensuring that all construction work is completed and documented as required.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in project management within industrial construction environments.
    • Strong experience in oil and gas construction projects.
    • Hands-on experience with ethanol plant or similar industrial facility construction.
    • Solid understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and best practices for industrial facilities.
    • Solid organizational and time management skills to manage multiple activities and priorities on site.
    • Effective communication skills to coordinate with project managers, trades, and other stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety standards on site.
    • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
    • Experience working as a Site Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role on industrial projects.

    Qualifications

    Work Environment

    This position is based on an industrial construction site focused on ethanol and gas plant projects. The work follows a rotational schedule of three weeks on and one week off, requiring extended periods on site. The environment involves working around heavy equipment, industrial processes, and active construction activities, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to site protocols. Food and lodging are provided via a daily per diem of $65, with lodging arranged and paid for. If you bring and stay in a travel trailer, the per diem increases to $85 per day. The role requires readiness to work in varying weather conditions and to be present on site throughout the rotation, following all site-specific safety and operational requirements.

    Pay And Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $78.00/hr.
