About the role
This position oversees operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of field staff within the plumbing trades, and coordinates fabrication for the assigned project(s).
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations and strategic planning for field staff within the plumbing trades.
- Coordinate fabrication for assigned projects.
- Manage plumbing scopes ranging from $5M–$100M+, leading field crews of 20–100+ plumbers, pipefitters, and subcontractors.
- Lead and oversee hydronics field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met.
- Supervise General Forepersons, Forepersons, Journeypersons, Apprentices, Tradespersons, and Trainees.
- Assist direct reports with resource management, team selection, and assignment of Forepersons.
- Execute QA/QC protocols, implement safety department protocols, and adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
- Plan for successful project installation, participate in project kick-offs, mid-jobs, and wrap-ups, attend jobsite meetings, and provide input to the GC and PM.
- Review and track project labor budgets, engage with labor relations representatives, and defend and resolve labor disputes.
- Coordinate with other ACCO departments, vendors, and subcontractors, order tools and equipment, and verify equipment prior to delivery/rig day.
- Monitor and advise on quality control measures, review and track project documents to determine staffing requirements, set goals and expectations for field personnel and detailers, and drive the job.
- Evaluate personnel performance to ensure it meets the highest level of quality, productivity, and safety.
- Collaborate with other field supervisors and share experience to develop best practices, align processes, and leverage resources.
- Support the project(s) strategic plan and goals, identify, assess, and mitigate risks, and ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively.
Requirements
- Extensive market experience and technical knowledge in Plumbing and Process Piping systems.
- Proven experience on large commercial, industrial, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and high-tech construction projects.
- Experience managing plumbing scopes ranging from $5M–$100M+, with the ability to lead field crews of 20–100+ plumbers, pipefitters, and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of mission-critical and complex project environments, including data centers, central utility plants, healthcare, industrial/process facilities, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing projects.
- Experience with the Local Unions Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Knowledge of current building and mechanical code.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, Box, and other relevant software.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
- Experience in remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations.
- Preferred certifications or degrees in construction management, engineering, or architecture.
