Area Superintendent - Process Piping
About the role
This position oversees the operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of General Forepersons, Truck Forepersons, and Forepersons executing Process Piping installations within the hydronic trades of the assigned area. It reports directly to the Department Manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all hydronic field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goals
- Operate as a resource manager for direct reports
- Select and assign Forepersons based on project needs
- Develop and implement project execution strategies and schedules
- Prepare weekly project progress, health and safety reports
- Resolve issues, challenges, and obstacles during project execution
- Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control protocols
- Adhere to and enforce Safety Department’s protocols and ACCO policies and procedures
- Plan for successful project installations through job walks
- Attend pre-bid and post-bid interviews, participate in project kick-offs, mid-jobs, and wrap-ups
- Review project documents to determine staffing requirements
- Assign field supervision and labor to projects
- Maintain and evaluate personnel to ensure performance meets high standards
- Evaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and meet project goals
- Monitor and fill any project need gaps until a field supervisor is assigned
- Engage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals
- Communicate with PMs and PE’s on bid strategies and current projects
- Coordinate and assist with problem-solving strategies with PMs and supervision when issues arise beyond the scope or understanding/capability of the project supervision assigned
- Mentor General Forepersons and Forepersons to be elite leaders
- Aid in departmental budgets, financial planning, and fleet management as needed

- Effective communication at all levels of the business
- Experience and deep understanding of the hydronic trades (pipe fitting, process piping, plumbing, site-utilities, start-up)
- 12+ years of experience in Construction leading projects
- Member of the local hydronics union in good standing
- Experience with ACCO’s business and corporate software technologies
- Proficiency in English
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- Knowledge of local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites
- Preferred but not required: Member/affiliate of local apprenticeship training programs, Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architecture, Experience in remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations, Software experience: CRM/PM Platforms: Bidtracer, Collaboration: Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, PlanGrid, Design/Detailing: Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, Navisworks), Spooling: MSuite Bimpro, Fabrication: MSuite FabPro, Fluent in Spanish

Pay
The position is for signatory employees and wages will be in alignment with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Schedule
Travel 75-90% of the time to and from the primary office to job sites and regional branch offices.
