Job Overview

The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing field labor performance of their assigned project, overseeing field supervision and installation on assigned electrical projects from inception to completion. Your primary objective will be to ensure that safety and field operation procedures are followed and that project is managed to the extent of meeting or beating labor budgets while ensuring the successful execution of electrical projects, including planning, organizing, and coordinating activities related to installation, testing, and commissioning. You will collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks

  • Accurately forecast labor needs to ensure that proper manpower levels are maintained
  • Aid Foreman in planning the job, ensuring that material, manpower, and equipment are onsite to perform work
  • Aid Sr. Superintendent with updating manpower needs to the manpower log to ensure that requisitions are properly and timely requested from Recruiting
  • Review and monitor labor efficiencies, hours, and ratios
  • Project labor needs for the duration of the project with monthly updates
  • Track and monitor material costs, storage consumed, and ordered to identify potential problems while minimizing overruns
  • Maintain ongoing and open communication with Sr. Superintendent, Foreman, site management, and Project Management. Provide technical support as needed
  • Monitor and address safety hazards or potential problems with Foreman
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of systems and equipment being installed
  • Attend meetings as necessary for field-related items with project team and general contractor
  • Walk project daily reviewing and inspecting installation methods and quality of work performed
  • Ensure that Forman is compliant with company policy and procedures. Hold Foreman and crews accountable for meeting project objectives and compliance with job responsibilities
  • Ensure that all assigned projects meet or beat labor rate budget
  • Ensure that all assigned projects meet or beat labor hour budget
  • Create and manage overall project schedule (Capacity Overview) and update as required or monthly at minimum
  • SIS’s are completed weekly and reviewed with Foremen and make labor adjustments as required
  • 10-5-2-1 is performed with proper internal and external notifications as required
  • Provide accurate project manpower projections and update weekly
  • Manage field workforce and communicate issues to Human Resources
  • Manage and execute Corrective Action Plans as required

  • Identify field training needs and utilize the Workforce Development Team for assistance and implementation
  • Attend all assigned project Installation Turnover meetings to provide guidance and feedback on constructability and project flow to project team
  • Review specifications and drawings for assigned projects to determine cost savings ideas with project team
  • Facilitate a review of all installation “EZ” drawings with field foreman to ensure cost savings ideas are implemented and or constructability issues are resolved
  • Identify critical path tasks and their durations. Coordinate internally with project manager and foreman for implementation into project schedule to eliminate potential issues and capitalize on schedule opportunities
  • Review the kit Electronic Bills of Materials (EBOM’s) and field installation “EZ” drawings with Foreman prior to delivery to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure the use of field quality control measures
  • Absess and evaluate Site Supervisor’s skill set and develop an individual training program to address gaps
  • Design and deliver training to all Site Supervisors on how to develop the skills of upper-level trainees through journey level craftspeople
  • Assess journey workers to identify potential future Site Supervisors and facilitate their development and promotion to Level 1 foreman
  • Coach individuals on their career goals and progress

Compensation

Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience, and skill level.

Location

Rex Moore has branch offices located in Sacramento, Fresno, Reno, and Atascadero. This position may be required to travel to various project sites.

Reporting Structure

Reports to - (Sr. Superintendent) Department - (Construction Services & National)

Qualifications

  • Site leadership competency at Level 5 Foreman or higher
  • Must have, or be willing and be able to obtain within 6 months of starting, an OSHA 30 construction certificate & CPR/ First aid certificate
  • Minimum of 15 years of electrical construction experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including speaking to large groups and providing group training
  • Strong internal and external customer orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
