About the role
The Site Services Technician I is a key member of the Site Services team responsible for performing hands-on maintenance, repair, and upkeep of critical site infrastructure across field, office, and workshop facilities. This position reports directly to the Site Services Supervisor I and is crucial for ensuring operational continuity at Copper World.
Responsibilities
- Execute maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks for all site infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and building structures.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and services to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of critical systems.
- Respond promptly to and resolve emergency breakdowns and maintenance requests.
- Ensure all work adheres strictly to company safety protocols and quality standards.
- Operational Support and Compliance:
- Assist the Supervisor with managing inventory by monitoring the stock of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Enforce company safety policies and procedures in all work activities.
- Perform all duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in regular safety audits and toolbox talks as required by the Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including completed tasks, inspections, and repairs.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with the team of technicians and maintenance staff, following direction and delegated tasks from the Supervisor.
- Communicate technical issues, required repairs, and work progress clearly to the Supervisor and other relevant personnel.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A technical degree or relevant certification (e.g., HVAC, electrical license) is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a hands-on maintenance or facilities role (based on related Supervisor requirements).
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various conditions, such as confined spaces or at heights.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Required to operate a motor vehicle, including company vehicles, and must possess a current and valid driver's license.
- Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
- Must have reliable personal transportation to the site location.
- Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions (hot and/or dry), noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
- Current MSHA certification is a preferred qualification.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various conditions, such as confined spaces or at heights.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions.
- Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.
- Employee will be expected to drive a company vehicle, rental vehicle and/or his/her own vehicle in the course of performing the job.
- Employee must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
- Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
