Site Safety Manager - Remote (NE Arkansas) - 100% Travel

About the role

This position requires 100% travel to project site(s). The current project is located in NE Arkansas.

The Site Safety Manager oversees and ensures the safety of construction and project sites. This role includes interpreting and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections, and providing leadership and guidance to site safety managers. The manager will proactively identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and direct incident investigations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, implement, and oversee comprehensive site-specific safety plans, ensuring consistent application across all projects.
• Direct and conduct regular inspections and audits, identify hazards, verify proper use of safety equipment, and ensure compliance with established procedures and regulations; provide constructive feedback.
• Lead safety training, orientations, and kickoff meetings for employees and subcontractors; mentor site safety managers to deliver effective training at their sites.
• Manage and guide investigations into accidents and injuries, review documentation prepared by site safety managers, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Ensure adherence to all occupational, environmental, and legislative safety requirements, including OSHA standards, and monitor compliance across subordinate safety managers with client requirements.
• Continuously evaluate safety policies and procedures, direct site safety managers in risk identification, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of safety records, inspections, incident reports, and corrective action logs, consolidating information for management review.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED (Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety from an accredited ABET school preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of direct Industrial Construction Safety experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.
• Proficient in MS Office Products.
• Minimum certification required (one of the following):
  • Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Construction Site Safety Supervisor (CSSS)
  • Construction Site Safety Technician (CSST)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)

Skills

• Experience with U.S. regulations applicable for HSE.
• Experience with management systems compliant to standards OHSAS 18001 (or ISO 45001).
• Experience performing internal workshop/site audits and HSE management system audits.
• Knowledge of industry-recognized standards used in construction project inspections.
• Expert knowledge of Human Performance Principles and Theory.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and influence other decision-makers within the organization.

Pay

Salary Range: $38/HR - $50/HR (dependent on experience, education, location, and qualifications).

Semi-annual, performance-based profit-sharing bonus (10% to 20% of salary).
