Description
This is an evergreen opportunity supporting upcoming solar and BESS EPC projects across the U.S. Site Safety Managers are placed on project sites for the duration of the build (typically 8–12 months) and then transition to the next project. This is a fully on-site, field-based role Candidates must be comfortable with a project-to-project travel lifestyle.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
- Work with site EPC personnel to implement and manage a proactive behavior-based approach to Health & Safety.
- This includes a strong emphasis on personal responsibility, incident prevention, and a management systems approach to compliance.
- Safeguards the development of H&S policies, programs, and procedures to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Continuously evaluates employees and contractors' practices, procedures to assess and reduce risks for the benefit of employees and contractors.
- Leads accident or mishap investigations to identify causes and recommend improvement opportunities and preventive and corrective measures.
- Visits work areas to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment, materials, and adherence to work requirements.
- Performs periodic safety and health risk assessments and compliance audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of general construction experience
- 2 years managerial experience preferred
- 3 years of solar industry experience preferred
- Have an operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and procedures
- OSHA 30/510 required
- Must have a valid current driver license

EXAMPLE OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
- Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
