Site Safety Engineer
Responsibilities
- Enforce the use of safety equipment/clothing as required by OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Reinforce that team members on the project site are in compliance with the safety requirements of the company.
- Ensure that appropriate safety records are maintained.
- Ensure that work areas are maintained in a neat, safe and orderly fashion.
- Investigate cause of an incident and complete reports as required.
- Assist Site Manager in administrative counseling to team members and subcontractors who are in non-compliance with safety requirements.
- Hold safety meetings/jobsite review as part of coordination meetings.
- Responsible for conducting daily safety meetings.
- Responsible for conducting orientation and jobsite specific training.
- Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- OSHA 30 Hour card.
- Experience in an industrial construction environment is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Should be an energetic, self-motivated individual who has a passion for collaboration and professional development.
Benefits
The position involves frequent travel to project sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel according to Gray’s travel policy.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is generally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required.

Indirectly manages subcontractor safety personnel.
