Site Safety and Health Officer
Responsibilities
- Surveys construction projects to identify and evaluate physical conditions, safety practices, hazardous situations, and compliance with established safety standards.
- Reviews history of accidents and claims and prepares reports and recommendations as required.
- Covers safety of the projects as a whole, schedule, loss history, upcoming activities, etc., and provides stimulus for proactive loss control efforts.
- Conducts accident investigations and provides recommendations for corrective/preventive action.
- Conducts site-specific safety orientation.
- Affirms the safety of the projects as a whole, schedule, loss history, upcoming activities, etc., and provides stimulus for proactive loss control efforts.
- Interfaces with existing company safety professionals to direct and improve the effectiveness of safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Coordinates, develops, and /or conducts weekly safety meetings.
- Reviews subcontractor safety program to ensure compliance with project safety standards.
- Affirms the proper level of training for subcontractors.
- Affirms the proper use of productive equipment.
Qualifications
- 30-Hour OSHA Training.
- EM 385-1-1 Training.
- Five (5) years of continuous construction industry safety experience in supervising/managing general construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls), or five (5) years of continuous general industry safety experience in supervising/managing general industry (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls).
- If the SSHO has a Third-Party, Nationally Accredited (ANSI or National Commission for Certifying Agencies - NCCA) SOH-related certification, only 4 years of experience is needed.
- Working knowledge of government, industry, and other regulations (i.e. Army Corps of Engineers EM-385 and the 1910 and 1926 OSHA regulations).
- US Citizenship is required to be able to gain security access.

CCI General Contractors, LLC is expanding its workforce! We are searching for a proficient Site Safety and Health Officer to join our growing construction business line. This individual would have to be able to help develop, implement, and oversee the safety program and effectively work with the project execution team in ensuring work is done in accordance with the approved safety plan while helping ensure schedule and budget compliance. Candidates possessing US Navy, Air Force, and/or US Army Corp construction experience desired. Pay
Salary Range: $130,000-160,000/annual
Schedule
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife.
