About the role
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Cloud Engineer with a strong interest in cloud computing, infrastructure, and modern cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based solutions while collaborating with development, DevOps, and IT teams. This role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates with internship, academic, or project experience who are eager to build their careers in cloud engineering.
Responsibilities
- Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Support the management of cloud resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases.
- Monitor cloud environments for availability, performance, and security.
- Assist in troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, application, and connectivity issues.
- Support cloud migration, deployment, backup, and disaster recovery activities.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and IT teams to support cloud-based applications.
- Assist with automation of cloud infrastructure and operational tasks.
- Implement basic cloud security, access management, and configuration best practices.
- Document cloud configurations, processes, and technical procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies, services, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Understanding of virtualization and cloud infrastructure concepts.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Basic understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and access control.
- Exposure to serverless technologies and cloud-native application development.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Internship, academic projects, or hands-on experience working with cloud platforms.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), or Google Cloud certifications are a plus.
