Site Project Manager/Estimator
About the role
The Site Project Manager/Estimator will provide strategic support and oversight of multiple site-related construction projects to ensure operational efficiency, safety compliance, and quality standards are consistently met. This role will play a key part in workforce planning, estimating, budgeting, and coordinating resources across the department and with executive leadership, other internal staff, external trades, and clients to drive continuous improvement and support long-term business goals for the company.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously from planning through completion and turnover.
- Develop, distribute, and manage project schedules to meet key milestones.
- Initiate the job start process, including job start documentation and proper setup of project budgets.
- Cook with permitting officials to ensure all requirements, documentation, and inspections are completed.
- Provide accurate and timely project reporting through meetings, site visits, and shared reports.
- Manage the change order process, coordinating between Contractors, Suppliers, Ownership, and Clients.
- Review project plans and documentation to ensure constructability, identify inconsistencies, and recommend solutions aligned with modern construction methods.
- Provide value engineering recommendations to reduce project costs and/or improve profitability.
- Close out projects, including final budget reconciliation, client signoff, and administrative closure.
- Estimates all site-related work and submits proposals of estimates for evaluation.
- Plan and coordinate pre-bid meetings with potential bidders and contractors.
- Prepare and distribute Invitations to Bid (ITBs), drawings, and supporting documentation with clearly defined scopes of work.
- Communicate safety, insurance, and contractual requirements to suppliers and contractors throughout the bidding and award process.
- Create, process, and maintain Purchase Orders (POs), Field Purchase Orders (FPOs), and subcontracts using construction management software.
- Maintain organized bid, contract, and procurement documentation within project folders, job start books, and construction management software.
- Analyze project budgets to determine appropriate cost coding and coordinate with field staff as needed.
- Cook with CST Accounting for timely processing of invoices and vendor payments.
- Review and track time and materials on an ongoing basis to confirm consistency budget and scope.
- Works with the Site Superintendent to monitor and maintain approved overtime hours ensuring accurate labor hour tracking of assigned team members.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Minimum 5+ years of excavation, site development, or project management experience is required.
- Experience in land development, NPDES processes, and stormwater management practices is highly preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction specifications and blueprints.
- Experience in construction management, estimating, and takeoff software is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Safety Oriented – OSHA 30 Certification is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to schedule projects and personnel to meet deadlines.
- Attentive to detail with strong follow up and communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with customers, trade-specific construction personnel, contractors, suppliers, and other team members.
