Responsibilities
- Overseeing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services for the Prepared Foods – North America’s Service business segment.
- Leading and managing the purchasing team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Purchase Order (PO) placement lead time, suppliers past due, on-time delivery, quality, and cost reduction.
- Conducting daily management meetings to drive quick action and resolution of purchasing and supply chain related issues.
- Collaborating with suppliers to negotiate lead time reduction, purchase prices, order quantities, stocking programs, fostering mutually beneficial relationships, and meeting both near and long-term business goals.
- Developing and owning supplier scorecards on KPIs, driving continuous improvements in suppliers' performance and internal procurement processes.
- Developing and owning leader standard work and operating procedures, ensuring all lead time and cost data in the ERP remain current and accurate.
- Prioritizing the local organization based on regional and global guidance, implementing regional and global initiatives, and setting priorities for the local organization.
- Representing Procurement towards the local Senior Management.
- Partnering with strategic sourcing, category management, and leadership of product lines to achieve and sustain supply chain health to support day-to-day and future businesses.
- Collaborating and supporting day-to-day operations such as customer services, project management, and warehouse to ensure speedy resolution of daily business needs.
- Championing continuous improvement initiatives and empowering team members in root cause finding and problem-solving.
- Developing purchasing team members through professional growth and advancement pathways.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, logistics, or similarly related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in purchasing for a manufacturing/warehousing facility.
- Minimum of 5 years in a purchasing leadership role.
- Career path that demonstrates progression of responsibilities in purchasing.
- Working knowledge of purchasing, sourcing, supplier performance management, inventory strategies & practices, and negotiation with suppliers to achieve cost reduction.
- Capable of working within a major ERP system, including the extraction and analysis of data that leads to KPI improvements.
- Intermediate MS Office suite skills, including preparing PowerPoint presentations to upper-level leadership, and using MS Excel to display and analyze data.
- Experience in large volume and high pace warehousing operations is highly desirable.
- Experience in Six Sigma and lean methodologies is highly desirable.
