About the role

An investment management firm is seeking a Site Procurement Manager to become the first procurement professional embedded at a major active construction project. This is a highly visible role where you'll partner directly with construction leadership, trade foremen, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to ensure materials, equipment, and services are available when and where they're needed. This position is ideal for a hands-on procurement professional who thrives in the field, enjoys solving real-time construction challenges, and can balance urgent site needs with strategic supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated onsite procurement lead supporting a large-scale active construction project.
  • Manage urgent purchasing requests for MEP components, industrial supplies, replacement parts, tools, and specialty equipment.
  • Build and manage relationships with local suppliers capable of same-day and next-day response.
  • Oversee the site's rental equipment program, including cranes, forklifts, generators, temporary power, HVAC equipment, aerial lifts, and other critical construction assets.
  • Lead procurement activities for consumables, PPE, construction materials, small tools, and site services.
  • Coordinate closely with EPC partners, contractors, and logistics teams to prevent supply disruptions and keep construction activities moving.
  • Manage site-level purchasing, supplier performance, spend tracking, and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of procurement, materials management, site buying, or construction supply chain experience.
  • Strong experience sourcing MEP materials, industrial supplies, rental equipment, and construction consumables.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction, mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, or industrial projects is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP purchasing systems and procurement best practices.

Why This Opportunity?

  • Be the first procurement hire onsite, building procurement processes, supplier relationships, and operational best practices from day one.
  • Work directly with construction leadership and trade partners in a highly visible role.
  • Play a critical role in keeping the project on schedule by ensuring materials and equipment are always available when needed.
  • Help establish the supplier network, procurement strategy, and operational foundation for a major construction project.
