Site Manufacturing Technology Leader
Position Summary
The Chemical Mechanical Planarization manufacturing business is seeking a Site Manufacturing Technology Leader at the site in Newark, Delaware. The CMP facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, film coating, and numerous converting operations such as buffing, grooving and finishing. The role is accountable for the technical health of those operations: process capability, yield, uptime, capacity, and leading solutions aligned with the technology roadmap that keeps the site competitive.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the site Manufacturing Technology Execution organization, including engineers and technical specialists supporting site operations. Set technical priorities for the group and balance resources across improvement work, capital support, troubleshooting, and daily operational demand.
Renew, retain, and develop the technical competency of the site engineering resources; mentor and coach engineers at all levels of experience.
Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and represent Manufacturing Technology in site governance, staffing, and business reviews.
Leverage capability from other sites, corporate engineering functions, and contractor partners where site resources are insufficient.
Interface with key business leaders to resolve issues and reconcile competing priorities.
Cook up coordination of the leveraging of manufacturing technology resources across the site and the broader organization to improve effectiveness.
Technical and Manufacturing Leadership
Provide technical expertise and direction that improves competitive advantage in the manufacturing of CMP pads, spanning incremental improvements through major technology changes.
Drive process improvements that benefit yield, quality, uptime, and capacity, and hold the team accountable for measurable results.
Partner with operations on root cause analysis for complex manufacturing problems, and personally lead resolution of the most critical issues through the team.
Drive technical improvements through the broader Manufacturing Technology team, both through continuous improvement projects and capital projects, for pad manufacturing tools and modules.
Support the EHS organization with investigations and action items, and ensure Manufacturing Technology work meets Process Safety Management requirements.
Own the qualification of new equipment and the technical plans for commissioning, decommissioning, start-up, and shutdown activities.
Partner with the Automation Center of Excellence to swiftly drive and own the implementation of the selected Equipment Automation projects for the site.
Ensure compliance to PSM programs and systems in-line with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with business and site manufacturing teams to define improvement goals across safety, asset productivity, and quality, and lead technical resources to meet them.
Capital and Project Support
Develop and approve basic data for capital improvement projects, working with vendors, site engineering, and business partners.
Represent the technology position in Statements of Work, design reviews, acceptance tests, commissioning, and safety reviews.
Partner with the Site Engineering Leader on capital portfolio planning so that the project list reflects the site's technology priorities.
Own the technology workstream of selected projects from concept through turnover to the end user, holding accountability for scope, cost, schedule, and installed quality.
Develop the site's five-year capital improvement plan, work with capital engineering and business partners to fold into the Global CMP five-year capital plan, and upon approval support execution of the Newark specific projects within it.
Work with the business, marketing, and Integrated Operations teams to define, prioritize, manage, and execute major and minor capital improvement projects against business objectives.
