Site Manager (Night Shift Schedule)
About the role
Gray Construction is seeking a Site Manager to oversee field activities on their projects. This role involves managing project safety, quality, schedule, planning, jobsite logistics, leading the on-site management team, and coordinating with subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Takes ownership of all aspects of the field activities from start-up to completion.
- Maintains and tracks overall project schedule and creates a two-three week lookahead.
- Provides real-time data to the project manager for schedule maintenance.
- Ensures site safety requirements are met, including personnel and jobsite standards.
- Trains project team members on Gray software such as CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time and GoGray.
- Conducts site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities.
- Conducts monthly project reports to track safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget, and customer relations.
- Collaborates with the project manager to ensure timely buyout of subcontracts and procurement schedule management.
- Leads, teaches, and coaches subordinates to establish a professional contractual relationship with all parties involved.
- Establishes and manages a jobsite safety culture and holds team members accountable for adherence to Gray policies and procedures.
- Facilitates team growth and assists in developing scopes of work for review and approval.
- Assists in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers and participates in pre-award meetings.
- Assists in preparing various reports, including cost to complete, monthly billings, and status reports.
- Executes project closeout and punch list procedures.
- Owns schedule management post-mobilization and ensures proper management to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10+ years related construction experience.
- Prior experience in overall responsibility for field activities on projects preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage and direct on-site project teams.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
- Strong people management skills.
- Energetic, self-motivated individual with a passion for collaboration and professional development.
- Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
- Skills in utilizing Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint.
Benefits

Physical Demands & Work Environment
The Site Manager position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, and hearing. They are also required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The role involves lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and frequently lifting up to 25 lbs. Physical demands include exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate to loud. Overtime may be required. The role includes supervisory responsibilities, leading multiple subordinate supervisors and other support staff.
