About the role
Deutsche Windtechnik is seeking a Site Manager to lead all wind farm operations, focusing on maintenance, repair, customer relations, and profitability. The ideal candidate will manage site technicians, budgets, and performance, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve maintenance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage all duties on the wind farm, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Oversee site customer relations, budget, technicians, reporting, service logs, and turbine performance optimization.
- Direct site team performance within contractual scope to customer needs.
- Develop and train site personnel/subordinates.
- Work with engineering to develop strategies for improved maintenance, diagnostics, and operation.
- Implement operationally focused feedback for configuration, planned and unplanned maintenance, and financials.
- Ensure financial performance of the project (P&L).
- Write/complete routine reports, correspondence, relevant paperwork, including service orders, checklists, and AWPs.
- Serve as direct line manager for all site personnel.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is a plus, but not required.
- 3+ years’ experience in the wind industry with at least 2 years of managerial experience.
- Valid driver's license (non-CDL/CDL).
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, follow instructions, and work with minimal supervision.
- Physical fitness to lift up to 100 pounds, free climb 300 feet, and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to rescue team members in emergencies.
