About the Role

Manages a company-owned IBS store to generate increased ROI, improved market penetration, and provide excellent customer service. Responsible for hiring and developing quality personnel, setting high performance standards, and ensuring employee efforts and accomplishments are recognized. Oversees inventory protection, asset management, operational issues, and overall store cleanliness.

Fully supports and implements all IBS NAPA programs, whether operational or marketing-based.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors store sales performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, and year-to-date basis.
  • Identifies problems and solves them effectively.
  • Develops good customer relations and maintains a high level of service.
  • Addresses customer sales and service questions quickly.
  • Supervises and coaches store employees.
  • Monitors and recognizes both good and unacceptable employee performance.
  • Ensures proper processes and procedures are utilized to minimize inventory shrinkage.
  • Assures merchandise is received in a timely, accurate manner and stored appropriately in the stockroom.
  • Creates a safe work environment and ensures required HazMat training occurs in a timely fashion.
  • Actively works to minimize employee time loss due to Worker’s Compensation injuries.
  • Understands, interprets, and complies with Company policies.
  • Works closely with the District office (or District Manager) to maintain procurement card controls.
  • Builds relationships and negotiates with non-NAPA vendors on pricing, inventory, and service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school and/or college degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the automotive after-market service industry, preferably in an automotive parts department, dealership, jobber, or retail establishment.
  • Working knowledge of the organizations the store services.
  • High character and fair dealings with both employees and customers.
  • Strong leadership to create a high-performance team through customer focus, open communication, coaching, and feedback.
  • Personal drive, self-motivation, and initiative to accomplish company goals.
  • Ability to work with people in a fast-paced setting while remaining competitive and calm under pressure.
  • Ensures proper maintenance and protection of company store facilities, equipment, inventory, and other physical assets.
  • Willingness and ability to learn.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of operating TAMS point-of-sale system and cataloging.
  • Able to use an adding machine and process cash, check, and credit card transactions.

Work Environment

  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Able to speak clearly and listen attentively.
  • Capable of standing and walking for the entire assigned work shift.
  • Able to lift and move parts and boxes of up to 60 pounds.
  • Able to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor-level shelves and reach upper shelves (eight feet) with the use of a stool or ladder.
  • Able to move engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment using moving aids such as hand trucks, barrel dollies, and hydraulic lifts.
