Site Manager

About the role

GardenCore is seeking a Site Manager to lead all aspects of a fast-paced mulch, soil, and stone manufacturing facility in Gaffney, SC. This position is responsible and accountable for bottom-line results, including monitoring key metrics, safety, production flow, and material costs.

Responsibilities

• Establish the highest standards in manufacturing operations, including housekeeping, safety, and maintenance.
• Provide exceptional leadership to staff, assess performance, and direct operational activities to ensure safety, product quality, and consistency.
• Ensure employees are properly trained and equipped to perform tasks.
• Enforce workplace safety through implementation, adherence, and enforcement of company standards and safety programs.
• Leverage existing tools to implement process improvement methods and drive high performance and productivity.
• Procure and profitably negotiate raw materials, and set up logistical details to meet production demand.
• Implement and sustain a solid preventive maintenance program.
• Oversee financial performance of the facility, including P&L, budget & forecast, inventory management, labor, and capital planning.

Requirements

• 2-year degree and/or equivalent combination of education, industry experience, and training.
• 2+ years of manufacturing management experience.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in wood, aggregates, mining, or stone products preferred.
• Experience with heavy equipment preferred.

Pay

Base salary of $85,000–$90,000 per year, with opportunity for an annual bonus.
