(Site-Level Controls) Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop site-level control software for energy storage systems.
- Build applications that manage multiple Powerwalls operating within a single installation.
- Develop software that sends commands to and communicates with Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
- Implement reliable communication between devices and cloud services.
- Build robust software capable of operating in environments where reliability is critical.
- Collaborate with firmware, embedded, cloud, and systems engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot system behavior across software and hardware interfaces.
- Participate in software design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and debugging.
- Improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ensure high software quality through thorough testing and validation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong programming skills in at least one application-level language such as: Python, Java, C#.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and debugging.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals and communication protocols.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing device-connected software, including: IoT applications, software running on or interacting closely with hardware devices, systems where software communicates with cloud services and mobile applications, device management platforms, distributed systems involving physical devices.
- Experience in embedded-adjacent environments, even if the role itself is not firmware development. Examples Include Smart home devices, Energy systems, Industrial automation, Connected appliances, Automotive connected systems, Medical devices, Networking equipment.
