Site Foreperson/Superintendent

About the role

Landis C. Deck & Sons Division of the H&K Group, Inc., seeks a Site Superintendent/Foreperson to oversee construction projects such as highways, pipelines, and other infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Performs work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Studies specifications to plan paving project procedures
• Assembles organizational members (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and others) at project start
• Orders tools and materials delivery to conform to work schedules
• Convenes with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors
• Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives
• Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers
• Inspects work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications and adherence to schedules
• Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, and costs
• Adjusts work schedules based on reports
• Directs workers on major maintenance or reconditioning projects
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 3 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Experience operating heavy equipment, especially milling machine, paving machine, roller, etc.
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Problem-solving and priority-setting skills
• Composure and conflict-resolution skills
• Basic internet and Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE
• Ability to meet physical requirements (standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, lifting)

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience
• OSHA or other relevant safety certificates
• Experience in heavy civil and highway construction

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, and stoop
