Site Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the daily site operation, including creation and modification of site operating procedures.
• Create and modify change management tickets, create timely incident reporting, and perform site maintenance and repairs/inspections.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of facility layout and operation of MEP systems, and equipment nomenclature standards.
• Manage BMS alarm functionality, event escalation, and incident reporting procedures.
• Utilize CMMS to create, edit, implement, and close change management work orders.
• Develop or improve SOPs for site-specific equipment and gain a thorough understanding of local customer businesses.
• Support various accreditation initiatives such as SSAE16, SOC2, ISO 27001, etc., as required by Digital Realty.
• Complete DLR Critical Awareness Training.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in mission critical facilities operating or engineering, including assets associated with mission critical engineering relevant to the specific site.
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical skill and competence in the area of non-expertise.
• Strong knowledge of various UPS Systems and architectures, cooling systems and architectures, infrastructure redundancy configurations, and energy efficiency principles.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, including the ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues, complex inquiries, or complaints.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and basic understanding of emergency situations and escalation processes.
• Basic understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), DCIM, and power metering systems.

Qualifications

• Lift and handle up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of network devices, materials, or equipment.
• Climb ladders (up to 16 feet) to reach plenum spaces.
• Work under a raised data center floor.
• Gain a good understanding of the local customers' business and data center operations.
• Support various accreditation initiatives, such as SSAE16, SOC2, ISO 27001, etc., as required by Digital Realty.
• Complete DLR Critical Awareness Training.

Compensation range: $36.50- $38.36 per hour.
