Duties
- Provide direct service to patients
- Ensure compliance with DPH, OSHA and Dental Association regulations
- Comply with departmental protocols
- Maintain productivity standards
- Provide general dentistry
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for dental care
- Commitment to providing dental care to families in a medically under-served community
- Willingness to develop new methods of dental services delivery
- Confidential handling of sensitive information
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment
- Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens
- Refer patients to specialists and relevant patient care components
- Direct and coordinate patient care activities
- Perform quarterly chart audits
- Complete staff reviews
- Attend required meetings
- Train and orient Dentists and Hygienists
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
- Work closely with Director of Dental Operations
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD from an accredited Dental School
- If limited licensed, must have a minimum of 2 years AEGD or GPR successfully completed residency program
- Licensed in Massachusetts to practice Dentistry
- Minimum of three years professional experience
- Public Health experience preferred
- CPR certified or equivalent
Supervision Exercised
- Dentists, Dental Assistants, and Residents
Physical Requirements
- Near visual acuity to observe health/illness status of patients
- Eye and hand coordination for administration of injections, treatments, etc.
