About the Role
Under the supervision of the School Age Director, the Site Coordinator is responsible for programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program. The Site Coordinator will plan and implement a program of activities which will ensure each child’s personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. The Site Coordinator is responsible for all billing and timely collection of payments, upholding the employee code of conduct, and ensuring that all areas of the job reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y and the regulating agency. The role involves displaying and encouraging the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect while performing job duties.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a program of activities for school-age children, ensuring personal safety, entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences.
- Oversee billing and timely collection of payments.
- Uphold the employee code of conduct and align job responsibilities with the mission of the Old Colony Y and regulating agencies.
- Encourage and model the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty, and respect.
- Understand and apply Y-USA’s three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
- Identify and meet the needs of program participants.
Requirements
- Minimum of 20 years of age.
- B.S. or B.A. with 9 months of experience with school-age children, or High School diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of experience working with school-age children.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
- Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
- Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
- Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Occasional early mornings, late nights, and weekend work.
- Strong oral communication skills for public speaking responsibilities.
Skills
- Ability to lift/move heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs frequently).
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently during work hours.
- Proven ability to identify and meet the needs of program participants.
