Site Coordinator - School Age Childcare Program

Part-time, non-exempt position starting at $19.00/hour. School-year schedule: Monday–Friday 6:15 AM–9:00 AM and Tuesday & Thursday 2:15 PM–5:45 PM.

About the role

The Site Coordinator provides supervision in the Before & After School Program and assists the School Age Director in delivering activities that support youth development, guidance, and success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and establish age-appropriate programs and activities that foster children’s growth.
  • Oversee day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
  • Encourage children to participate in a variety of centers/activities and provide instruction and feedback to develop skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership to ensure conduct, safety, and development of children.
  • Maintain children’s files, incident reports, and injury reports.
  • Allocate and monitor work assigned to part-time staff; ensure productive and effective performance.
  • Oversee proper record keeping and reporting.
  • Maintain liaison and communication with parents and schools; establish an atmosphere that encourages parent involvement.
  • Ensure compliance with EEC Regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • Maintain clean and sanitized program areas before and after children’s arrival/departure.
  • Monitor member check-in and attendance.
  • Be a strong advocate for the Club as a positive environment.

Requirements

  • Must meet EEC requirements for Site Coordinator: at least 20 years of age.
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, ECE, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, The Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Childcare, plus 6 months experience working with school-age children.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any field or Associate’s Degree in one of the fields listed above, plus nine months experience working with school-age children.
    • High School diploma plus one year experience working with school-age children.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Knowledge of Youth Development.
  • Minimum one-year management experience in a school-age setting or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Honesty, integrity, and ability to operate as a team player.
  • Good judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to interpret and apply EEC regulations, Board of Health regulations, and departmental policies.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments and adjust priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment.
  • Consistent and punctual attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Commitment to maintaining high program standards.
