School Age Childcare Site Supervisor

About the role

This position involves maintaining student and staff attendance, ensuring the safety and hygiene of children, managing group activities, and promoting YMCA programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and thorough attendance of all students and staff each day.
• Ensure the safety of all children by following supervision standards and emergency protocols.
• Coach, guide, and manage group leaders/assistants, assigning daily responsibilities and overseeing activities.
• Plan and implement a weekly curriculum focusing on physical activities, nutrition, STEAM, educational projects, and social-emotional learning.
• Oversee the cleanliness and hygiene of the program environment, ensuring supplies and equipment are sanitized.
• Provide attentive care for children, including diaper changes and hygiene, and report any maintenance issues.
• Lead monthly fire safety drills and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
• Complete 20 hours of professional development annually and adhere to sanitation and health guidelines.
• Assist with planning and implementing special events, including promotional efforts for YMCA programs and camps.
• Maintain certifications and participate in required trainings and meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, college credits/degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels including staff, parents, and school staff.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions that align with the YMCA's purpose, mission, and goals.
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and planning skills.
• 1-3 years supervisory experience.
• 1-3 years working with children in a group setting in Before/Afterschool programs.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
• Experience adhering to Licensing requirements.

Pay

$18.93 per hour.
