School Aged Childcare Assistant Site Supervisor

About the role

This position involves assisting with the daily operations of a childcare program, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and promoting YMCA programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining complete and thorough attendance records.
• Ensure the safety of children by following supervision standards and emergency protocols.
• Sign in and out children, record times, and maintain accurate rosters.
• Follow YMCA protocols for first aid and emergency situations.
• Manage behavior problems and lead activities as needed.
• Assign responsibilities and assist with various tasks like snack preparation, homework help, and cleaning.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by cleaning supplies, equipment, and supervising hand washing.
• Provide hygiene care for children, including diaper changes and follow proper techniques.
• Affirm the role model status of staff members and report maintenance issues.
• Lead monthly fire safety drills and document results.
• Complete annual professional development hours and attend required training.
• Plan and implement special events and promote YMCA programs.
• Maintain certifications and complete background checks as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, college credits/degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels.
• Experience in group settings with children, preferably in Before/Afterschool programs.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
• Experience adhering to licensing requirements.

$17.85 per hour
