Job Summary
Abbott is seeking a Site Controller to lead financial activities at our Temecula, California location. Reporting to the Site Director, the Site Controller will provide guidance in setting strategic directions and designing business plans to achieve the long-term mission of the plant.
What You’ll Work On
- Financial leadership in a plant, influencing Manufacturing, QA, Engineering, and Supply Chain through budget decisions, financial training, financial recommendations, and general business guidance
- Financial point of contact with local government, internal/external auditors, local counsel, certain suppliers, and certain regulatory bodies (tax, customs)
- Presentations of financial plans/analyses/strategies to Global and Regional Manufacturing Controllers and Divisional VP of Manufacturing
- Set appropriate financial direction ensuring proper reflection of financial results and forecasts
- Coordinate, consolidate, and manage the development of plans for the plant including standards, LBE’s, and capital budgets
- Develop and implement financial and operational measurement tools focusing on productivity and customer service improvements
- Facilitate unit cost savings and overall cost reduction forums for the site to drive gross margin improvement and monitor progress against commitments
- Gather, analyze, and interpret accounting and financial data for the preparation and presentation of meaningful reports and recommendations to Plant and Division Management
- Ensure compliance to relevant GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, as well as Corporate and divisional policies and procedures
- Leverage ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to ensure accurate inventory, costing, and financial reporting
- Drive automation, standardization, and simplification of finance processes in alignment with corporate initiatives
- Partner with shared services, IT, and global finance teams to improve data integrity and reporting efficiency
- Support system implementations or upgrades in regulated manufacturing environments
- Lead, develop, and mentor site finance team members
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical financial stewardship
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including manufacturing finance
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and plant-level financial analysis
- Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare manufacturing
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP) and advanced financial analysis tools
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and influence senior leaders
Benefits
The base pay for this position is $129,300.00 – $258,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
