Site Attendant - Swing Shift

About the Role

The Site Attendant plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients at Illumination Health + Home, a growing non-profit dedicated to disrupting the cycle of homelessness. This position operates in a high-level, fast-paced, and high-stress environment, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Client Care & Support:
  • Assist with client intakes and discharges by preparing bed areas and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Enforce facility rules and policies during admissions and discharges.
  • Conduct routine wellness checks and facility walk-throughs (minimum every 2 hours) to monitor client safety and welfare.
  • Intervene using de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques as needed.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled searches of client belongings to ensure compliance with site rules.
  • Pick up client medications from pharmacies and assist with move-outs, including packing and room sanitation.
• Meal Preparation & Food Safety:
  • Prepare and serve balanced meals following food safety standards.
  • Sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment before and after meal service.
  • Clean and disinfect dining areas after every meal.
• Sanitation & Housekeeping:
  • Maintain a sanitary environment using universal precautions and proper PPE.
  • Perform daily janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
  • Conduct deep cleaning of client areas weekly or upon discharge.
• Transportation & Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Drive clients to appointments and program activities, ensuring safe and timely transport.
  • Maintain daily transportation logs and inspect vehicles before each use.
  • Clean and sanitize high-touch areas in vehicles before and after each use.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets).
  • Valid CA Driver’s License with 5 years of clean DMV record.
  • Eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
• Preferred:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $20.00 per hour. Eligible for $1.00 swing shift differential and $2.00 graveyard shift differential.

Schedule

Tuesday-Saturday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
