Silver Sneakers / Active Older Adults Group Exercise Instructor

We are looking for a certified Silver Sneakers or Active Older Adults Group Fitness Instructor who loves what they do and knows that a group exercise class can engage members like nothing else. An instructor who understands that connecting with members in class can inspire and set them on a track to a healthier life.

Requirements

• 18+ years of age and high school diploma or equivalent
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or a national certification
• Certification in Silver Sneakers or Active Older Adults Group Exercise
• Strong leadership skills and a passion for member service

Responsibilities

• Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness
• Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards
• Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles
• Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff; notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns
• Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies, or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction
• Ensure safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes
• Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and keep records of any incidents
