About the role

As a CDL B Side Load Truck Driver, you will safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks to pick up waste or recyclable material from customer sites and transport it to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The role may require multiple trips per shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering up to 100 pounds. Drivers must perform pre- and post-trip inspections, ensure compliance with safety standards, and navigate congested or confined areas.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate side-loading trucks for waste or recyclable material collection.
• Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
• Navigate congested or confined areas, including tight city locations, with highly skilled backing maneuvers.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds, including frequent mounting and dismounting of the truck.
• Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Complete reports and records legibly in English.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Great safety record and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete reports.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position, including lifting and maneuvering heavy loads.
• Willingness to work required hours, which may include weekends, nights, or holidays as allowed under DOT regulations.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
