Class B CDL Side Load Garbage Truck Driver

About the role

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up of waste or recyclable material.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, potentially making multiple trips per shift.
• Operate both manual and automatic trucks.
• Perform repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering of up to 100 pounds.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times during each route.
• Navigate congested communities and confined or tight areas, requiring highly skilled backing maneuvers.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.

Requirements

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement.
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a strong safety record.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete reports.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willingness to work required hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays as allowed under DOT regulations.

Pay

Hourly pay of $28.80.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays. Early start time.
